i have it on ps3 and i didnt get passed like two hours after the intro. i dont know what it is. i tried to like the game but couldnt. is it really that good?

i know everybody has their own taste in video games. i dont like games that kind of play themselves. i dont like playing through a game just to get to a cutscene so i can see more story. tell me, is what makes this game so great just the story? i do want to see the story, but i dont know if i can get through the boring gameplay to see it. would i be better off just looking it up on youtube? i might give it a try again this summer because of all this buzz, but i really dont know if i could get through it.

Put the controller down and be amazed...that nothing will happen, the game does not move forward without the player so I don't know where you got that ridiculous observation. I will refrain from responding further to, what I can only assume is a passive aggressive jab at the game, based on your experience on a very short time with the game (which is fairly long for its genre, my first run took me 20 hours to beat, 85% completion, no guides) and agree to disagree.

OT: The trailer have not impressed me. I plan to get it, even though I have beaten the game 3 times (currently working on grounded mode) just not on day 1. Amazing soundtrack however, it literally gave me chills from time to time.

what i mean by that comment is that the game seems REALLY linear and people like it because of the story and the character development. i have just always been of the mind that if a game is relying on good story and character development.. then it might as well have just been a movie. i dont see the advantage of it being a game at that point. this is of course just a matter of preference, and im not really sure because i havent played it, but the last of us seems to fit that category and thats why i havent gotten around to playing it yet.
