It's a bit different implying someone to be a worse race or a worse football team. This case is the latter. Or are you saying all the jabs and memes at the Brazilian loss against Germany were racist too?
That word gets thrown too much by people who don't know how to use it.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
