I agree. Example: If DKC had already been in the VC, I think Tropical Freeze would have sold well.
I think Nintendo (and others) to some extent mistake VC titles as substitutes for new entries. E.g. If we offer Super Mario Bros 3 on VC -- people won't buy SM3DW. That's somewhat true -- but it paying fan service to the platform is a major key to the platforms success. When they didn't do that with the Wii U VC at launch, it became another reason for consumers to reject the platform.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
