Smart comic. Funny and sad at the same time. We've really dug a hole for ourselves and our fellow consumers.
I've never paid a cent for free-to-play games, nor have I invested money in early access. I have, however, purchased some DLC for Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil 5, and Fable II. The Fable II stuff was worth it, the others not so much. Since then I've decided that I'll only get DLC when it's free or when it's a full expansion pack like New Super Luigi U.
I might add preordering to the sins covered in the comic. If it's for a title that will sell out fast, then I understand, but in general I think it's a dangerous game. It signals to publishers that we as consumers are willing to purchase unfinished games based on the way they're marketed. It disrupts the traditional revenue stream of video games and marginalizes the critical community.
