Look, a lot of us PC gamers think Star Citizen is a waste too. Those of us who hunt bargains during the Steam sales are very much different for the VERY small minority willing to spend $300 on a ship.

Most of us who purchased the game only got the $40 or $60 package.

That 275.00 package is not just for a ship though.  That's the physical collector's edition which contains stuff like a physical ship model, ship-shaped USB stick, map, blueprints, CD, book(s), etc all in a nice collector's box of some kind.  I'm not saying it's necessarily worth the money.  But you are not paying $275 for just an in-game item here.

For the record, I'm a huge fan of Chris Roberts' previous games like Wing Commander, but I am still undecided if I will be pledging on this project.
