Maybe thanks to the new market, companies actually start to make more creative IPs that don´t involve blood and lots of violence. I´m sure most Wii owners will get games from known companies as long as they are decent, including those super casual gamers. Advertising is key here.
Games like MGS, FF, DMC can stay in the hardcore machines, and spawn more sequels for them. Wii can get good spinoffs ( like FF:CC Wii is supposed to be) and new IPs, which can actually grow with Nintendo, like the others did with PS. That way, hardcore gamers will be pleased, and the expanded audience may get more involved.
