I see a lot of tinfoil hat opinions here. Sony will probably expand the streaming service to PS4 games ONCE the PS5 is out.  But again even if the PS5 moved to a all streaming device it's still different than what MS tried to do.  Why people can't see the difference is very puzzleing. 

You need to be online to stream as the content, if people need to understand how streaming is done google it. MS tried and are still trying to take games you purchase and the console does most of the work to play but instead adds elements that need to have a constant connection to use! Even for single player! I understand needing to be online to use multiplayer (no brainer) but for single player? that is complete BS. The chances of the PS4 going the way of a streaming device is moot, It can add the feature but you will always be able to get the games via physical media or digital. 

I am perfectly aware of the differences, but to think that Sony will not take measuers to try and move towards an "always-online"-future during this generation is naive to say the least. I heard the exact same arguments about PS+ during the PS3 era: "Sony will never charge for multiplayer", and where are we now?

MS had a wider plan with the "always online". It also meant the family sharing would come in effect, saving money for the gamers. Also, it would enable a faster stransition of the industry into streaming-only and digital-only software, which I personally think this industry needs.

I agree with you that having always online for a game that never uses it is stupid in its own right, but this is about a system that is always online with all the benefits that come from it, and that is an idea I believe in. I also think Sony believes in it, they are just taking it a different route than MS.

Your right about that. But the thing is that if by next gen everithing is streamed then prices will be like the pstv 100$ not the 500$ xbox one. So nobody is going to complaine about that since most likely it will come free with some kind of subscription.
