Certainly wouldn't think that based on the state of 3DS sections in the UK, they're as barren as Vita racks now.

Vita is drop in Europe.

I'm not saying 3DS hasn't had an increase in Europe, I'm just commenting anecdotally from what I see in UK stores. As Kresnik said, last year supermarkets had 3DS sections, now they might have a single shelf if you're lucky.

Vita on the otherhand has much better presence in stores here, but that's purely because the Vita shelves are integrated into huge PS4 wall racks. Certainly no indication at all of sales.

That said, where do VGC get their EU sales data from? As to be brutally honest, it seems to be plucked out of thin air in lieu of official announcements of sales anywhere.

I'd certainly question the 2014 Vita sales, they have them as dropping off when fairly high profile stuff is released. You'd expect games like Football Manager and Borderlands 2 to give it a bump not a drop. Especially compared with last year when Soul Sacrifice was about all the system got in the first half of the year. This year on the otherhand there's been a fairly consistent flow of exclusive releases and some bigger name 3rd party stuff.
