Exactly this. And this is what I have been trying to say. This is a niche topic for a niche market. The only people that will care enough about this are people that care enough about gaming to know these kinda things or spend this kinda time on forums. And even amongst those people a majority of them either only own or also own a console. The second you start saying these things to the person that thinks an iphone is the most cutting edge tech in the world, or that LED tvs are a special type of new Tv and completely new better tech than LCD tvs..etc; you would have lost them. We can talk value, performance...etc all day, but the average consumer is really blind to these things. For a very long time a lot of people thought that simply plugging a device to a HDTV meant that anything you were watching was "In HD". Even if using composite cables. Consoles sell for their simplicity. And even now they are getting a lot of flak with the amount of patches and updates they require but these days things like that have become the norm too. There is no doubt and no argument that there is value in PC gaming. But its discussion is like telling members of a boxing club what kinda gloves are best to use. |
Except PC is nowwhere near a niche market. Do you realise how many people use Steam now? Your statement is ignorant beyond belief.
