Interesting topic, but let's remember why consoles are so popular while PCs decline, eh? Even though PCs have the freedom to build into many forms and prices, you need knowledge for this. People like simplicity. Console is just plug-and-play.
Even though there's a debate around 1080p/60fps nowadays, most people don't care so much and just want the games to look cool. And consoles games look very cool.
So, as long as you have to say "PC is cheaper, all you have to do is bla bla bla bla" you added a lot of explanations that the market don't want to think about. While we, the niche market, care about such details, people just want something to spend their time or let their children entertained.
