Nintendo's biggest problem seems to be they don't advertise well to the core audience and rely on their fans to generate buzz. The primarily reason Mario Kart 8 has helped revive Wii U sales has to do with it being Mario Kart and a good to extremely good entry into this particular well loved sub-franchise that only get released once in system's life time.

Nintendo seems to have gotten better if the E3 Direct video, the numerous treehouse videos and their sponsorship of EVO are anything to go by but time will tell. Hoping they don't just throw out Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third like they did with Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 last year but the fact is they are likely to do so.
