Most platformers do nothing for me. Perhaps it's because of the sheer volume of them over the years but, looking back, I probably never did like them all that much. I almost never completed pure platformer games. They're usually so static that I become totally disengaged, stop playing, and never come back. I'm also not a fan of the short "stage" style of game presentation, either, where everything is broken down into small, linear segments.
Jumping as a primary game-play mechanism is, to me, extremely uninspiring. I like more dynamic challenges.
