Will collective sales of the 8th gen manage to match 7th gen?

And what is your basis on that? The Wii hit 100 million  and was selling 3 times more than what the PS4 was by now. The Wii didn't drop below 100k sales a week until 5 years into it's lifetime. Maybe if Sony keeps the PS4 going for the next 10-12 years but it won't because they won't let them selves be left behind. With the current numbers as they are and how they are going, it will never happen. Not even close.

I need a source for this on this site when you can go and check the figures yourself? GO take a look at the february of 2012 and around there, it wasn't until the summer where the Wii dipped below 100k.
