Why agonize? I tend to not pay attention to games coming out (except release dates) so that I don't see too much. Companies can release trailers which don't spoil the game, but just seeing a specfic area (saw a volcano area), or shot tidbits of a boss, you know a bit about what's coming.

Zelda I agree with, Nintendo only really showed a clip saying "we're making it like this", but nothing to get excited about. However you can base expectations for Zelda, Uncharted, Halo, etc, based off experiences with past entries.

The way I see 2014 is "mostly sequels to meh games." I'm not hyped for another Assassin's Creed or another Call of Duty. I haven't even been able to keep up with the franchises.

Out of curiousity, how many games are you still planning on buying in 2014? I only have 3 for sure (Smash Bros, Phoenix Wright Vs. and Pokemon) and the other games I have pre-ordered are 2015.

I tend to do better "out of sight, out of mind" with games or films or television shows.  If I anticipate something I think about it and covet it and even obsess a bit about it.  Focusing on more current events makes that process much more pleasant for me.

2014? While I agree have zero interest in Assassin's Creed anymore and never cared about Call of Duty there are plenty of games I want to buy left.

Tales of Xillia 2, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, Dangan Ronpa 2, Warriors Orochi 2 Ultimate, Hatsune Miku 2, Freedom Wars, Sword Art Online, Transistor, Child of Light, Shovel Knight, South Park: Stick of Truth, Valiant Hearts, Broken Age, Murasaki Baby, Oreshika, Wolf Among Us, Samurai Warriros 4, Tales of Heart R, Xblaze: Code Embryo, Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!, Fairy Fencer F, Battle Princess of Arcadias, Guilty Gear Xrd, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection, Demon Gaze, Witch and the Hundred Knights, Akiba's Trip, Mind Zero, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Shantae: Half Genie Hero, Rime, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Rebirth, Professor Layton v. Ace Attorney, Super Smash Bros., Entwined, Little Big Planet 3, Apotheon, etc.

So...yeah, I have not enough funds or time to play all the games I want in 2014, and 2015 is looking to be as bad (or is it good?) for me and my wallet.
