Kickstarter goes through a funding period and then still needs development until anyone gets their hands on it.

An early access game is playable the minute it is added to the store. There are no goals to meet and you don't wait until a beta build is completed, because they already have one.

An early access game is "playable" the minute it's added to the store but many times it's in such an early and horrible state that it's not much better as a game which in only on paper.

It still has advantages over Kickstarter because if that is the case then you get to easily know about it

With Kickstarter everyone is taking a risk until whenever the devs decide to release a beta, which could be well over half a year after the funding

An early access game gets filled with user feedback on forums right when it's released. You can easily make up your mind on whether you want to buy it or wait.

Hours of footage is uploaded to youtube. And you make your decision.
