My Master's thesis was 6 months late due to the technical difficulties involved with the coding side of things. In short, people who don't work with software have zero idea of the complexities involved with large scale software projects. With regards to game development, things have becomed exponentially more complicated for devs. People who don't understand this make ignorant comments and expose themselves as fools. Unfortunately the structure of the internet does not allow these people to be suitably embarrassed for their ignorance. |
Did I say things aren't more complicated right now? No need to personally attack me by calling me a fool.
Now, as it may be, game studios give a release schedule, and the majority release within that time. Not having a SINGLE major game ready for summer shows that either little to no projects were slated for a summer release, or that Sony underestimated development time.
And what's funny is that Sony is a professional company that knows what they are getting into in terms of development. If they didn't have a single original title ready for a summer release, that's squarely on them. As a game company, they should be ready to deal with delays and structure their release schedule.
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
