Once they lose all hope at seriously expanding the user base, they will have nothing to lose by milking existing users for more money. Had people with enough common sense not started ridiculing them, that would already be the case, with those few "true fans" still finding a reason to defend Microsoft. My guess it will start slowly, by mandating cloud saves and unlocking achievements only while online, by offering "better experience" while connected then silently taking away the "worse experience" option, by justifying another subscription fee increase because of all the new features. It will be up to the XOne user base to resist at that time, because I doubt that the internet will fight their fight again for the second time. |
Sadly, judging by the comments in here, they won't fight. They'll sit there, ask MS for more, and defend them to the end. Of course, this means their install base is going to be much smaller, but I guess that doesn't matter to them. Whatever MS says, goes.
