Not really the same thing :p PSNow is an optional service that allows you to play games without the need for actual hardware. This on the other hand would require you to be connected to the internet even if you wanted to play a single player game on a disk, on actual native hardware.
People are exaggerating the issue though, as usual. People have long memories. MS aren't stupid enough to release always online single player titles the same generation they got so much shit for it. If they do use the cloud as a compliment to the hardware (likely for minor stuff), i expect it will be as an optional service.
