The uniqueness of the game, the soundtrack, the storyline. Well developed world, everything screams AAA when you first played the game even 5-6 years ago, years after its release. However by today's standards the game might be considered "meh" graphically, which already puts off droves of people and there isn't a "wow" factor anymore.

A valid comparison would be to that of Heavy Rain, you either like the game or you find it a grind. It does something fresh as a new IP and brings its own bag of tricks which you may or may not like. I loved Heavy Rain, and it's the only game that would actually make me consider buying PS4 now (I thought UC2 and KZ2 were overhyped, as LBP personally).

But at the time of its release I can imagine it has ticked MOST if not ALL boxes to make it suchly accreditted game.

I've played Bioshock 1, 2 and Infinite, and I would say that's the way I would rate the franchise. 1 was just amazing, and I've contemplated replaying it recently.

I am genuinely struggling to think of an FPS that as so heavily story driven and with such a terrific twist last gen.

Oh if you havent tried out Metro last light you definity should.
