Why is Bioshock 1 so praised?

If it's immersive atmosphere through gameplay what truly sets Bioshock, then why Bioshock 2 was less praised?

It was less praise because the story felt tact on and forced. The Big Daddy a big, slow man stuck in a suit looking like in constent plain addicted to the plasmids like a druggy following around little girls like a dog, once a symbol of how rapture went to shit. Now feels they're there just cause they look cool (just like pyramid head has become) and adding the little sisters and becoming one yourselves even though your somehow a super Big Daddy lost its meanning. Although i have no complains using my drill to ram in my emeimes. 

 

Anyways the game had better gameplay, but the trade off was an less interesting story and less integing atmosphere. You hipster
