Everything I have read says that voice commands still work, just not motion. All the compuational reserves were doing was skeleton tracking your body so that if you needed to do a motion command, it was ready. Voice commands are a whole different animal. You can do voice commands with a head set if you want to, all you need is a microphone. It is just a matter of developers implementing the feature...

It may be possible, but it's NOT implemented currently. You HAVE to use Kinect for voice commands. Yes, I am sure that the developers COULD re-write the code to get it to work (after all, Sony made it work), but you have ZERO chance of seeing that, as MS loves their Kinect, and the stuffed suits won't back down on their position that it's needed for voice commands.

the stuffed suit that loved kinect was mattrick. Kinect was his baby, but he is gone now. Phil spencer doesn't seem to have much interest at all in pushing kinect down people's throats. I wouldn't be surprised to see voice commands on xbox without kinect soon.

Mattrick may be gone, but there are PLENTY of other executives that were part of his team that are still there and still pushing the "old" vision. You still see it in comments from Phil too...like "we are sure most people are going to want a Kinect", etc. They may have released a Kinectless sku, but make no mistake, they are still pushing it...even to the point of touting 2 Kinect games during E3!
