The 425M is more powerful than the PS3's GPU (which is iequivalent to the Gefore 7800GT). That's just a fact. Optimizzation to a set architecture has nothing to do with what we're talking. In fact, the 425M being more powerful or less powerful than the PS3, or the 425M being able to play Battefield 4 on low settings has nothing to do with my original statement because BF4 isn't a next gen game. Let me repeat myself, as it seems you've lost your way in this conversation:  The next Elder Scrolls will not look as good as the modded version of Skyrim. Elder Scrolls 6 with the same graphical fidelity as Skyrim + every graphical mod (or even half of them) cannot be run by enough PC gamers to support the development costs.

Your Original Comment was " Of course not. The game wouldn't sell if they tried that because only 10,000 or so people would be able to run it." Which I responded to by saying basically, PC games have options so the PCs that aren't top gaming PCs can still run the game, then I provided an a very entry level GPU example as well as a game that is ground up made for PC which is BF4 which 425m can run on low to medium settings which is a gpu that many PCs, even with some intel video cards, can beat and the point was that bf4 on max settings looks very different than bf4 in low settings and since bf4's lead platform is PC and it is ported to consoles, it is technically a next gen game considering PCs have had the "next gen" experience for many years

Not once did I mention anything about development costs nor did I say that it will look anything like that in the next installment in our conversation and that is not what we are arguing about... We are arguing about the fact that is it possible for not-so high end PCs to run the next elder scrolls if it looked like that on max settings and my arguement was yes it is provided there is an option to lower the graphics... If you put that bolded part in your original post, then this conversation would never exist. All I am saying is that, if they were to make a game look that good, they can have options where it doesn't look near that good but it can still run on mid teir PCs. And I also think you vastly under-estimate how many gaming pcs there are in the market

Also, if you look here: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/videocard/

Most of those GPUs are better than a 425M with the exception of some intel ones and 71% of those are direct x 11 gpus which are a minimum requirement for most games these days. Oh and the ps3 gpu is a highly custom GPU so while someparts, it may seem like its a 7800 GTX, if you look in the technical level, it capable of a lot more than just what a standard 7800 is capable of, specially thanks to its cell cpu. But anyway, lets stop arguing since this isn't going anywhere and also, keep the quote trees down cause the mods don't like it

Edit: Oh and that link doesn't have anything to do with the "And I also think you vastly under-estimate how many gaming pcs there are in the market" comment
