Only relevant if you are trying to ignore the facts or in this case the context. Percentages are useless when a product is compared to itself. Like saying wiiU up 666% in relation to whatever WiiU sales were previously.

The context in this regard is by comparing one product directly to a different product competing in the same space. eg. PS4 sold 50% more than wiiU (100k+ to 50k+). In this case, even if the PS4 sold say 10k but sold 50% more than the wiiU.... that literally provides all the context you need.

But of course you probably knew all this already didn't you? :)

Even when you are trying to correct someone you are wrong...

The correct way to phrase that would be to say that the wii u sales were 50% of the PS4 sales. PS4 selling 50% more than the wii u's sales would be 75k considering 50% of 50k is 25k.
