If I limited my purchases or limited the games I will play to specs, I would miss out on a ton of great games.
Having a better resolution, textures and lighting doesn't inherently make a game more fun but it is very pleasing to the eyes. I understand why so many people want higher resolution and better lighting, I just wish people wouldn't put them so high on their list of "must have this to be a great game".
