I think it would be ok as long as they don't tie it with putting online multiplayer behind a paywall.
But it can also cause problems. I know a guy with PS+ and a PS3 + Vita. His backlog of PS+ games is so long that he doesn't buy nearly as many games as he used to.
And I don't really like the devaluation of video games in recent years (especially mobile + PC).
