Grinding can be fun too. But if something is so bad that people would rather pay money to skip it, you fucked up.

Exactly.  The games design isn't a fucking accident, it was designed to frustrate you into paying for the solution to the problems Ubisoft created ON PURPOSE.

I should be thankful for that?
