Weren't Atarii 2600 games $40 dollars new?  What would 1980's $40 be in compariso to today? 

Games look much better, and through the course of time have stayed at a pretty consistenly low price, with a few exceptions along the way (Squaresoft games for SNES that sold for $70; N64 games that sold for $60)
