I got the vita version. Combat gameplay is similar to the mousou games. You start each level with 3 character of your choice and you can freely switch between them. Mobs come at you in each level and you beat them up while moving forward and there is a boss at the end of the level.
The difference between this and the mousou games is that the game has a Town hub, that you use to take quests, move the story forward , or build new buildings( from items you can get through out the levels which you can then use to upgrade equipment or buy items) and expand the town. Also, there are "item words" that you can equip your characters with that have special effects (increased ATk, Def etc.... That and the boss fights so far have been enjoyable.
