IMO the glasses are just used to explain the thing. (as the text says glasses or something similar) You can also just put a battery powered LED on your forhead or a piece of paper with a special symbol (works like 3DS AR cards then).
Or in case of potential face recognition you dont need anything at all because it will track the two round objects in your face (your eyes)
You dont need glasees the TV is not even a 3d TV. It just changes perspective depending on where you are in the room the camera just needs something that does not change to much to keep tracking it whatever it is. (maybe you can tell the console "please track my moustache" rofl)
The problem is this just works for 1 person at a time.
Would be the smarter and better and cheaper choice for 3DS (single player device).
When you have a 3D TV tho it can use dualplay and then glasses might be needed. (first person sees odd second person even lines of the picture)
