Easy, jealousy. Most people are jealous of his successfull career.

Also, because of his social lifestyle and his confidence. He lives life like a  Jock/Popular kid which, doesn't sit well with gamers who associate themselves with similar people like themselves.

Last i checked, he didn't single handedly make gears of war, either.
