You have a good point there. Games with a good story and fleshed out characters appeal more to me as well. When they let you define your own character, like Mass effect for example, I always run into conversation trees where I don't like any of the options given. While in Dragon Age origins you're limited to just as many choices, yet I have less issues with it playing as pre-defined characters. (Their back story anyway)
