This trailer confirmed to me that they don't know what the hell to do with the franchise since they lost Techland.
Dead Island 1 is a fun game. Not perfect, but an enjoyable first person loot-and-survive zombie game with a cool premise and some interesting locations (less so the characters, but still).
The Dead Island 2 trailer I saw looked... nothing like the atmosphere of the first game. This also looked like another tonal shift from both DI1 and DI2.
I guess I'm going to have to get my kicks from Dying Light when that releases, since that looks like the true successor to the original Dead Island.
