it isn't though, personally I enjoyed VI more than VII, I liked the story more, it was far less predictable. FF VII was really a very linear story where the whole thing was chasing some guy. After the president died, there was only one more major plot twist and that was learning that cloud was a failure... if you never already figured that out. It wasn't even that much of one because there were so many things that indicated how it was going to turn out. Even Aries dying was seen coming a mile away, Sepheroth himself even said he was going to do it yet... some how people were so shocked... the moment she left your party and then was told "I'm going to kill her" you should have damn well known she was going to die. Really, FF VII is just an over rated game because it was the first 3D Final Fantasy game. Like come on, think about it. Would it still have been this great game of all time if it was the story of FF XV? probably not because the story was dry.

 

If I was going to give my top 3 RPGs, they would be Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and FF VI.
