Announcing such a milestone would confirm the dropoff in momentum, that's why Sony didn't talk about it.

It would still be ahead of Wii and it would be explainable without the Japanease launch.

Any way, all sales annoucements will look like a dropoff in momentum untill octuber (may be september with Destiny)
