ps4 9 million units sold?

But that's basically tracking numbers for mainly 3 markets.. Even if the rest of Europe is still supply constrained, there could be enough sales there that pushed the WW numbers.. Also, unless other countries the ps4 sells in are releasing sales figures.. There could be gaps in what's actually tracked here on VG to official numbers held by Sony.  

Lastly, Sony could be waiting for the 10 mil mark to announce official figures for all we know.. At the moment 9 mil does seem plausible given even VG has em at the estimated 8.2 mil mark.

*edit.. Just thought about it, but how close were VGs tracking numbers to official released numbers at the time of sales announcement?  Just wondering.
