8.5 million and barely growing isn't a lot, really. Plus, a lot of those sales are from Japan, so if Sony does want to continue with the Vita it only kinda makes sense in Japan. But in America and Europe the thing is dead.

That's sony's fault - support from them have been abysmal outside of japan - if you don't release any games consumers are not able to buy games. What makes things worst is the  software attachment rate for vita is impressive:

It's sad really - Sony is giving vita owners a disgusting finger, they do deserve better
