Owning a PS4 also does not. You are not a gamer just by owning a device. You have to play the correct type of game to be a gamer. If you do this on a 20 year old console or on a modern one is totally irrelevant.
I say correct type of game because you can also play games without being a gamer.
And btw "real gamer" does exist. What does NOT exist is the differentiation between hardcore and casual. Because games like Tetris are both at the same time and this should simply be impossible according to the people that say something is either hardcore or casual.
