It takes me more time to find a topic I want on the front page, as it's just a big jumble.
Using tabs I'll know the general topic of all the threads as I'm in a sub topic already. I usually only pop into look at Gaming and Off anyhoo, others if I have more time. And 25 threads from 8 forums gives you a good chance of missing a decent thread.
