How the hell is it over priced vs' the other box'es also being the same price as $99.00 hell you just pointed out fire tv, and yet the Playstation TV is the same price as the amazon fire TV with the fire tv game controller ! Also in 7 years total sale through Apple TV has sold a grand total of 25 million units world wide, thats even with Apple being the top leader in that market even over chrome cast and fire TV, and you really want to sit there and think Sony is not going to do well in that part of the market? You call over priced games? really? there is many $5.00 or less games on Playstation Network, and more is on the way because of indies is pretty much all thats on the way for the playstation TV and the PSVita right? no real game's right? You have your Opinion and i have mine but i think before you are so quick to write off this unit, i think we would best be wise to wait on its performance in the coming year to see how well it will or would not do. again:
"You can get a 360 or PS3 for 139(Probably 99 on Black Firiday and holidays). Those simply outclass PSTV for the less than 400 " Again, that would most likely be $99.00 for the xbox360, but for the PS3 if you are talking Used maybe, and as for to ouclass a $99.00 TV Micro-Game Box duh? but the fact these other console's are not what this Micro-Game console is Targeting , this box is not only going to be with the console isle but also with the TV box's section along where Amazon Tv , and Apple TV and Roku, and Chrome Cast. the fact this TV box is more geard as a Game console vs those other tV box'es is a reason why that maybe its offering something those other box'es do not or not able to offer, Better Gaming experiences. |
iOS and Android games traditionally don't go up to 39.99 in value. That is very expensive. Being priced at what Apple is priced for a not nearly as strong content ecosystem is over priced.
I really don't think Sony will do well in that market. They haven't done nearly as well in Laptops, cell phones, tablets, Personal media devices either. They don't have enough content to rival iOS and itunes period.
I don't need to wait. Sony can call this thing whatever it wants. Micro Console. TV set top box. If buying it for games is one of the desired outcomes they come up short just like Vita minus alot of the exclusive good games. I used to think it could work in developing markets but expensive memory and mostly online game library PSNow style stuff wont be appealing there. It will not be recieiving support in terms of new games from Sony going forward. So it fails at games in any meaningful and impactful way which is supposed to be it's differentiator from it's competitors.
