OT: PC is nowhere near the hassle you make it look like. Problems with the different drivers? Almost all of them will be installed automatically by your OS once you need them. Graphics card drivers? Yes, they are trickier, but if you play it safe and forget about the Beta drivers you won't have much troubles.

Also streaming, you make it sound like Sony or whoever wants to do it needs a console duplicate for every user that wants to use the service. Yeah, sure.

But yes, consoles are the best choice for the average gamer (ie. most of us).

And you like most PC types (not saying you are) make it sound simpler than it really is. What you are saying is simply not true.

Lets take a laptop for instance, which as far as PCs go is the locked down PC platform. Have you ever tried instaling a new version of windows OS on a laptop? After doing it, it doesn't just automatically install all the drivers. Even things as simple as your trackpad driver has to be sought out and installed for your specific laptop hardware or not you wil not be able to use multitouch/gestures on the trackpad. If you have a special keyboard layout with special keys, you have to sought out the driver for that too. then sought out the display and cpu drivers to. And this is just talking laptops.

And yes, that i show streaming works. There are ways around this, but those ways aren't viable when considering game streaming. If you have 10M subscribers, you have to acoomade for the possibility that all 10M of them may be on at the exact same time playing a game. If you don't have a duplicate console for every single one of them, then if that day ever comes yu are going to have a lot of unhappy paying customers on your hands.
