One of (to me) the major factors that most people overlook when comparing performance from PC to Console is the design of the OS itself. As most of us know console games are developed to one single standard and are thus able to achieve maximum possible performance based off of what's provided. This is a huge edge over PC where instead the engine is scaling to many different configurations all on top of a chunky bloated Operating system that's running multiple irrelevant processes. So, you might have a 8 core 2.6GHZ processor with 8Gb GDDR5 Ram and the next step up from the PS4 graphics card and it STILL might not perform the same games as well as its PS4 counterpart because there's no way its optimization was as precise, it's running parallel to a much larger and much more advanced operating system and to top that all off you still need to worry about driver compatibility. It's just too much hassle for the average consumer to deal with all that to get 'l337' graphics when you can go buy a console for significantly less while still having performance that's damn close (at least right now), get the exclusives that come with it, AND get the dedicated gaming services and peripherals that won't be available on any other platform. |
I put in all the facts as they relate to every model. I am not saying on eis better than the other as I have my own personal preferences. But it doesn't cahnge that these are the facts as they are. I am not expecting all or anyone to agree with me or anyone explanation that I gave. i just figured to give a template by which reasonable discussions on the issues and limitations may be made. The fact that its this long only goes to show how complicated it all is and why anyone coming in and saying this one thing is better than that is talking aoutta their ass.
