As for the USA, we've been fortunate to make it this far. Anything else is icing on the cake.

Don't undersell yourself, you were clearly the second best team in the group so you completely deserve to be in this round. Nothing fortunate about that
|
Agreed. It's just really hard to say because almost all the games in that group could've gone both ways except maybe USA vs Germany and Germany vs Potugal. We didn't come out of the group like the Dutch or Columbia which is why I think humility is needed.

It's gonna be a tough match for the US against Belgium, that's for sure, since they have a lot of good players with tons of potential. Though, so far, Belgium hasn't shown much as a team even though they won all 3 matches, so if the US plays as a cohesive team, you have a pretty good chance to win the match.
|
Can't disagree with that. Belgium definitely got an easy group. I just don't want people to get too overhyped because I've actually seen folks who think we're going to win the world cup just because...USA.

That's a lot of overhype indeed. You guys are doing a good job as a national team, not only in this WC, but in the past WCs as well. Any US fan has to be proud of what you've achieved so far
If the US team continues this growth and football gains more traction and better players in the future, it's not completely farfetched to think that you guys can win a WC.
