No. Scene kids is what people mistakenly call emo. I've noticed this. People keep calling scene kids "emo" even though they don't listen to a drop of emo. Or even that fake emo that is actually just shitty pop-punk. No I see people calling kids who listen to hardcore and metal emo. A lot. Scene is those kids who follow these music based trends, they go to lots of shows they listen to lots of music but then they pretty much do it all in the name of fashion. They don't care about the music, this is why people hate them. They pretty much destroy all the real scenes they latch onto.
Kids who spend 5 hours on their hair and makeup every morning are most likely "scene"
A real emo kid probably calls himself "indie" now. Indie and real emo are closely tied genres of music thanks to second wave emo bands that pretty much dropped what was left of the hardcore style emo originally had. For the most part, emo as a genre probably could have been declared dead a good while ago.
