Why do you think that? What did they do? Or is this because of the laser? |
One of the best developments in the last decades in world football imo is the increase of women/girls and whole families attending the matches which reduced the fanatism and violence. The Algerian fans at Brazil seem to be 99% male and seemed the most fanatic in a negative way to me (besides maybe the Mexican fans). The asshole with the laser pointer was just one, the other Algerians could have stopped him but they looked and acted like a fanatic mob to me.
By the way: The russian goalie Akinfeev made a simple mistake imo. He should have complained much more clearly about that laser pointer (his anger about the pointer made him miss the ball imo). He should not have just waved one hand almost timidly, right before the corner he should have refused to continue until the referee realized what happened and ordered the Algerian fan block via stadium announcer to stop using laser pointers.
