Say what you want about it, but it does seem like for better or worse Sony has shifted their focus westward. They haven't abandoned the east altogether, but they've shifted their focus from it. Probably because JRPGs are becoming less popular in the west, so they can't please both crowds by just making JRPGs like they used to be able to.
