Astronomers were recently excited about having detected a mysterious signal 240 million light years away from Earth, in the Perseus Cluster (top), one of the most massive objects in the Universe. It turns out to be a hoax however, and is actually just part of the marketing campaign for Activision's Destiny.
At least we know where that $500 million went.
