Like said before, there is no reason why they can't do this for digital games now. I mean they have 'main' accounts, don't they? Just make one account the main account of a family and any other lesser account connected to that main one (max of say 4 so 5 accounts total) can play that game.
Then Gold Live should be done by mac address, so needs to be paid once per machine. I thought this was basic database stuff.... maybe not.
