He could actually get a season long ban at this point, 3rd time he's done such a severe offence most players learn their lesson the first time but he's done it 3 times now with the latest incident in a WC. He must lack some serious self control and have a bizarre mentality as most people tend to just throw punches and kicks when angered, Liverpool must be face/palming hard right now thinking "Not Again" as he's not only let them down but Uruguay as well. The sad thing is I thought he'd learned his lesson in the same way Cantona did after his ban, coming back and driving his team but Suarez has gone and jumped into a deeper hole.

Now that would be a massive statement for him to lose out on club and country for a year. I will be very curious what FIFA decide.

No way they will ban him from club football.

Liverpool would have a very strong case to sue them for tens of millions.

But I doubt you will see him play for Uruguay in the next two years.

Keep telling yourself that as the have been incidents in the past that have yielded such bans with clubs unable to argue, one player pushed a referee in a WC and got banned for two years, Roberto Carlos nearly got hit with a similar ban for barging a referee in a friendly with Portugal but escaped due to a loop hole (the referee dealt with the incident by sending him off so the rules at the time was that FIFA can't act unless the official submits a report which he didn't). Liverpool's best bet would be to appeal for it to be international only if FIFA act.
