Suggestion - watch the trailer again, then pay attention to how everything else but the kid is rendered VS how the kid is rendered.
Kid pops out from everything. They are most likely using different shader for him, one that is more cartooney.
For comaparison, check old vs 'new' trailer...in old, everything is rendered the same way:
If you still don't see it, I'm afraid I cannot help you anymore than that.
I've already seen the trailer. I'm not an idiot. I stand by what I said. The the kid sticks out because that's the style, not because he's anime and everything else is realistic. I said that the only thing anime about him are his eyes because that's how all anime like this are. Everything else is made in realistic porportions. This is as realistic as it gets when it comes to anime. There is no "cartoony" shader. The old one has less bloom and the kid has darker skin. That's all. He looks just as anime as he does in the newer one.
It's completely irrelevant if he is anime or not, nor does having realistic proportions defines if something is cartooney or not. They are using different approach for rendering kid and he looks more cartooney than the rest of the scene.
If you can't see it, I'm sorry, and considering that, from all your posts I've seen since you joined the forum, talking to you is as productive as talking to a wall, I won't be answering further.
