depends what you count as AAA.  Some people don't count Studio Japan's smaller projects like Puppeteer and such as AAA even though I do.

I think he is just refering to retail releases.  Basically, not counting indies.  

I think 2 or 3 sounds about right myself...

Puppeteer and Sly are retail releases yet some people don't count them as AAA because...i don't know but many have claimed they're AA or something like that for being 2d or less impressive graphically.  It's dumb but I've heard the claim made by many that they don't count the same as a Halo or Uncharted or something.
